The Untouchable

Looking back on my twelve years on the Chinese internet, I faced brutal cyberviolence on a daily basis simply because I was trying to bridge the misunderstandings between Chinese and Indians, as well as bringing a little light about freedom and democracy inside the Great Firewall.

One phrase I used as a mantra and shared over and over again was: Every individual has their own path to walk. On your own path, you face your own karma—the circle of cause and effect. Your path and my path will not intertwine; you will face your own circle of doings and consequences. Everything comes back.

I am always amazed by how some people waste so much energy prying into others' paths, even going out of their way to try and harm others. Do they truly not know that whatever they do only comes back to themselves?

I have remained completely untouchable all these years, despite how many wanted to hurt me so badly. Why? Because on my own path, every single small action I took was done with such care and calculation that no one—nobody—was ever meant to be hurt in the remotest way possible.

At the end of the day, everything is an illusion; the entire universe itself—how can you even prove to me that I didn't just make it all up in my mind? Hence, while being here, I only aspire to experience, to enjoy, to open—to open my mind and my heart. And by being mindful to stay firmly in my own exploratory lane, of course, I am untouchable.
